St. Patricks Day

I did these nails in March of 2012. Their recent pinterest attention prompted me to link back to my blog instead of imgur.

These were done using two shades of green in Sally Hansen XtremeWear. The technique is called water marble. For great tutorials, search Simple Little Pleasures Water Mable on YouTube. Her videos taught me. The ring finger is a gold polish from Sephora.

ON HIATUS

I get a few random views from Reddit and Pinterest links, so I thought I'd mention that my blog has been inactive for months because I am currently working on my Masters Degree (in addition to teaching full time). I occasionally have time to PAINT my nails. I never have time to POST them anywhere.

See you all in June!

Lipstick Nails

These were inspired by CutePolish, who has a YouTube tutorial showing a similar concept. I strayed a little from her design.

WILL WORK FOR POLISH

A friend asked me to come do nails for her daughter's slumber party. I was promised birthday cake. What I also got was the greatest little polish gift!

Manicures Done:
Cows
Zebra with pink french tips
Yellow with purple flower accent nail
Turquoise with glitter

Christmas Holly

Rocking Christmas

I did these nails very quickly, as I only had 20 minutes until I needed to be on my way to a Watsky Concert
Never heard of Watsky?

You're welcome.

The guy at the door doing wristbands certainly enjoyed my Rudolf. :)

Vintage Blue PolkaDot and Roses

I was inspired by nails originally done by @lovessweetas, who tweeted her creation. They were later pinned onto Pinterest, where I found them.

I could NOT master the roses, so I created my own technique to apply them.

After painting my nails blue and applying random white dots, I chose two tones of pink and blobbed each on a piece of paper. I used a large dotting tool and dipped it into the dark pink, then immediately into the light pink. When applied to the nail, it created a marble effect. This effect was also used on my Rubber Ducky nails.

Afterwards, I applied a some glitter and a Seche Vite top coat!

Dark Pink:        - Neither of these polishes have labels, they came with an old makeup set. Use any color                                   you like in two shades.

Fall Pumpkins

What says "Autumn" more than pumpkins? These nails were created freehand using a small brush and some patience!

Hot Pink Zebra

This mani/pedi was created using:

Pink - China Glaze Pink Voltage (Neon) - This polish is very matte without a top coat.
Glitter - Sinful Colors Queen Of Beauty

The zebra stripes on my ring finger were created using my Konad nail plate and Konad black polish.
The zebra stripes on my toes were free handed, using a tutorial by CutePolish for guidance. See her tutorial on YouTube.
I dabbed the glitter on heavy at the tips to attempt a gradient effect.

Hootie WHOOO

Another teacher and I both have owl themed classrooms this year.

I did these manicures for our first week of school! I used SinfulColors from Walgreens and dotting tools. I did mine freehand, but you could use page reinforcer stickers to guide the outline of the owl. After doing some research, it seems that this blog may be the original source of the tutorial that inspired mine.
