Living Vicariously Through Mom's Nails

My nails, sadly, cannot be painted right now. It will take me a few weeks to get them back to a healthy state and length. Meanwhile, I've been doing manicures for other people. Here are my mom's first water marbled nails!

5 year Nail...iversary?

I've been doing my nails since I was in middle school. I used to tape french manicures on my toes and spend forever positioning "Nail Tattoos" from the dollar store on my thumbs. As I'm 25 now, my middle school years were pre-cell phones and digital cameras. Those manicures remain only in my memory (although, I do still have some nail tattoos!). This is the first time I ever photographed my nails. The date stamp is from EXACTLY five years ago. To the date. Coincidence? Absolutely.

Old Manicures (FA at...everything!)

I was finally able to go through the last several years of pictures on my computer after I had to have my hard drive recovered. Some of these nails have been on Reddit, almost all of them have been shared with my friends on Facebook. This is for anyone who might be lacking inspiration, enjoys looking at nail art, or is simply bored. Enjoy!

These Spring Dots were inspired by a Reddit Laquerista. The originals were done by Kehteh. I'm pretty proud of my manicure but trust me, if you had seen the inspiration you'd have to agree that there's no comparison.

WATER MARBLING

These are my first two attempts doing water marbling. The left was done with white ICE and an Avon polish. All other water marbles were done with Sally Hansen Xtremewear polishes.

Glitter Gradient

I have been loving the gradient trend. I used a makeup sponge to create this effect.
  • ChinaGlaze "Turned Up Turquoise(neon)"
  • Sally Hansen "Pure Chrome"
  • SinfulColors "Queen of Beauty"
